Meet the Speakers

Sorcha Edwards

Sorcha Edwards is General Secretary of Housing of Europe, the European Federation of Public, Cooperative and Social Housing since 2014. Sorcha leads the team and coordinates the network for maximum impact aiming at better regulation, better knowledge and better finance for housing in EU and International policy-making. 

Teun Bokhoven

Teun Bokhoven is the Chair of the Dutch Climate Agreement Built Environment, Chair of TKI Urban Energy and founder and former President of NVDE (Renewable Energy Association of the Netherlands).

Clara Camarasa

Clara Camarasa, Ph.D. is Energy Efficiency Policy Analyst at the International Energy Agency (IEA). Her work involves data analysis, capacity building and policy advice in the transition towards net zero carbon, particularly on the buildings sector.

Kornelis Blok​

Kornelis Blok is a Lead author of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Chair of the Delft Energy Initiative at TUDelft. He is founder of Ecofys.

Richard Lorch

Richard Lorch is Editor-in-Chief of Buildings & Cities. Richard works on organisational / policy responses to climate change – mitigation and adaptation paths – and the environmental impacts of the built environment and building performance at different scales from the individual building to neighbourhood to city.

Maaike Zwart

Maaike Zwart is the alderman for Sustainability, Work & Income and Economy for the Municipality of Delft. Maaike Zwart left her position as manager in the field of sustainable area development at the municipality of Amsterdam in 2022 for the councillorship in Delft.

Robert Dijksterhuis

Robert Dijksterhuis is Envoy Sustainable Building, Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations. He works on the European Green Deal, specifically with regards to the transition in the built environment

Zeno Winkels​

Zeno Winkels is the director of the Dutch Tenant Union representing 3.2M households that live in rented dwellings – exactly where the energy-transition, all social, individual and technical aspects of it, will take place. He is an environmental economist with nearly 25 years of experience in the building sector.

Holger Wallbaum

Holger Wallbaum is a Professor in Sustainable building, Chalmers University of Technology and lead author of the affordable climate-neutrality chapter of the UNECE/UN Habitat Housing 2030 initiative.
